The Hottest New Game In Town

And you can play it, too.

I've been keeping an almost immaculate kitchen. I wish I could say that I've really been working on my vocation this Lent but that would be kind of a lie.....mostly I've been staying on top of the dishes and sweeping and all that other boring stuff because I have met my nemesis.

I'm pretty sure one guy got in here and realized, "SO MUCH FOOD! AND WE DON'T EVEN HAVE TO CLIMB THE COUNTER TO GET IT!" And he went and brought all his friends. Last year we called an exterminator and he made them all go away, but we had to shell out the big bucks to do it. I'd rather buy useless stuff at Target with that money, so cleaning it is. And spraying with Hot Shot and putting child-proof ant bait things everywhere.

I thought we had them on the run....hadn't seen one in a week, in fact, when yesterday I slipped up just a bit. I left out a plate of peanut butter. This morning, the ants were back in full force. The silver lining of course is that the ants are forcing me to actually do my job around here, as well as having been the inspiration for a fun, new game....

Pretend there are ants invading the play kitchen, and kill them. You don't have to say it, I already know; my children are unmatched in their creative genius.

It was a classic situation. I thought to myself, "This is hilarious and I will take pictures for the blog. Then I will sit back and enjoy my breakfast in peace while the children entertain themselves so wholesomely." But of course, about 5 minutes in to the new game, Dom started losing his mind because Gianna was "finding more ants than meeeeee", and no amount of explanations about "you are just pretending to kill the ants....just pretend" would suffice. All good things must come to an end I suppose.
