A Birthday for Gianna

Five years ago today, I was up all last night doing this:



Which means that last night, I was up doing this:

I feel incredibly old this morning now that I have a legit kid....one that I can't remotely call a pre-schooler and definitely not a toddler and "baby" is a thing of the ancient past. That and the exhaustion.

As I was standing amongst the wreckage when I finally finished up, The Birthday Girl herself emerged bleary-eyed from her bedroom. Even though it was the middle of the night, I beckoned for her to come to the kitchen and see the finished product. Her grin made it worth it.

The plans for today....bring ballerina cupcakes to school for snack time, birthday dinner at Chik-fil-A, and then some gift action.
