1. Running the dishwasher....no knives? No problem. I can.....karate chop everything with my mom skillz.
2. Bathing the Doms. It's such a pain, plus he hates it (hmm wonder why? oh maybe because you have bathed him 4 times in his entire life and now the process frightens him yuh idiut) plus. Little boys are supposed to be grubby...
3. Making Gianna's lunch. Making lunch is the bane of my existence (plus poopy diapers, middle of the ngiht yogurt sessions, cleaning in all forms, and a few other choice activities.) When, oh when is it realistic to expect her to make it herself?? Please say, "Monday."
4. Putting on G's ears...I just can't muster the energy to walk in her room, assemble and toupe tape everything...plus the communication failures between the two kids are just too hilarious this am to end so soon. His lips must be really hard to read.
5. The laundry. Can I get an Amen.
6. The grocery store. I've been avoiding that place all week. Not even sure why. Not really sure about what we've been eating but we've run out of the criticals (bananas, yogurt, peanut butter, yogurt) so it seems today is the day.
7. Speaking of seizing the day....if you haven't read this yet, you ought.
More quick takes here...have a niiiiiiiice weekend.
I am so avoiding cleaning, laundry, and going to the grocery store, too. We are now out of fruit, bread, and milk. It is time. Thanks for sharing and making me feel like I'm not the only one avoiding these things. I just recently found your blog and have enjoyed reading.
ReplyDelete4- Amen. Unfortunately I'm nearly out of socks so it looks like it's going to be happening this weekend. Damn the luck.
ReplyDelete6- That's another one that's getting me this week too. All we have of the staples is milk and 3 eggs.
re: 4
Deleteyeah... i have to do laundry too. i'm out of clean underwear that isn't pre-pregnancy and comes from victoria's secret.
i also have to go grocery shopping. good luck to me in finding time this weekend to do that!
Last night I created the absolute last meal we could with what was on hand. I think it featured Ritz crackers, couscous, and half a carrot.
ReplyDeleteSince I didn't wake up this morning to the discovery that manna fell from the sky while I slept, I have to face the grocery store this afternoon. Pregnant. With five young children in tow. Hours before a snowstorm.
It's like a spy movie! Only with less glamour, explosions, and car chases.
LOL i am so glad that i am not the only person who routinely avoids the duties assigned to her.
ReplyDeleteMy second daughter actually asked me "Do we even HAVE anything for dinner tonight?". That's probably bad news...
ReplyDeleteI soooo hate making lunches and I got tired of hearing complaints about what I made..".....again?!" So I had the girls start making their own. I think Gianna is old enough to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich using a plastic knife. Think how proud of herself she will be! Then you can teach her how to make dinner...!!
ReplyDeleteI love this list. But I must say - I actually enjoy laundry because it means a trip to the basement which is an exciting adventure for the baby. Same goes for the grocery store - it's an adventure (out of the living room/kitchen AND it gets us out of the house). I'm pretty sure once I add another kiddo to the mix such activities will be much less exciting.
